Hamburger Recall at Winn Dixie

The USDA announced an additional recall to the 226,400 pounds of possibly spoiled ground beef that was recalled on January 10, 2010. The new recall includes hamburger distributed to Winn Dixie grocery stores in five states.

One Great Burger from Elizabeth, NJ is recalling boxes of hamburger, due to customer complaints of discoloration and foul odors. This meat is thought to become spoiled because of an inadequate food safety plan.

During the initial hamburger recall, it was discovered that returned meat was repackaged, recoded and sent out to institutional customers in California and Oregon. This new warning involves meat that was distributed to Winn Dixie in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.US NEWS PAPER
