The man, who fled on a motorcycle and wore a motorcycle helmet during the incident, robbed the casino hotel at about 4 a.m. Tuesday morning after pulling a gun in the casino-pit area, Las Vegas Police Lt. Clint Nichols said at a press conference Tuesday. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident, which took less than three minutes.
About 10 casinos have been robbed in the Las Vegas area this year, compared to about nine last year, according to Nichols, who didn't disclose the value of the other heists. "This is not an epidemic that we've seen Valley-wide," Nichols said, adding that the man likely acted alone.
