Interestingly, Weekly World News has a long tradition in peddling nonsense tales. The satirical Web portal earlier carried stories telling that George Clooney would run for President and Alien spaceships would attack Earth in 2011. Hence, several analysts count the Facebook shutdown scoop as one among such blunders.
