bcs championship

AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn University officials announced early this afternoon that the university, which closed today because of wintry weather, will be closed again Tuesday, the day after the BCS Championship game.

In a news release, officials said Auburn would close "due to the potential for continuing dangerous road conditions tonight." A winter storm struck across the South on Sunday into Monday, causing hazardous road conditions and canceling or delaying many flights.

Officials said classes and normal university operations will resume Wednesday.

"This will also allow students time to return to campus if they were unable to return before the winter storm," university spokesman Mike Clardy said in a news release. "Students experiencing travel delays, due to flight cancellations and other weather-related problems, should contact their professors by email to discuss their situation."

Students and employees were urged to check the Auburn University website for further updates. US News Paper
