Ann Pettway, the suspect in a 1987 kidnapping of Carlina White, is in custody after contacting Bridgeport, Connecticut police via Facebook and turning herself in without incident.
Friday, police issued a warrant for the arrest of Pettway for unrelated charges in violating her probation involving an embezzlement conviction.
Police had suspected her involvement in the kidnapping of Carlina White that took place 23 years ago, but could not produce viable evidence supporting an arrest until now.
According to a CNN report, an employee of a pawn shop in Bridgeport recognized the face of Ann Pettway from the media, and suspected she was wanted by police. The employee phoned police, but by the time authorities arrived, Pettway was gone.US NEWS PAPER
